Toronto Symphony Orchestra Rings in Summer with a Solstice Party under the Stars
Cap off the season and celebrate the longest day of the year with a special concert by Jeremy Dutcher and an after-hours cocktail party on the patio

On June 21, 2025, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) invites audiences to mark the summer solstice with an unforgettable evening of music, art, and celebration at Roy Thomson Hall. The festivities begin with a one-night-only performance by the genre-defying tenor Jeremy Dutcher and continue with the Solstice Party, a vibrant experience under the stars.
Presented during Pride Month and on National Indigenous Peoples Day, the evening honours the power of music to uplift identity, community, and self-expression. A Two-Spirit artist, cultural ambassador, and musical visionary, Jeremy Dutcher brings his powerful blend of Wolastoq songs, neoclassical influences, and boundary-pushing artistry to the TSO stage—celebrating Indigenous excellence and queer joy through sound. The program will feature music from Dutcher’s groundbreaking début album, Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa, which won the 2018 Polaris Music Prize and the 2019 JUNO Award for Indigenous Music Album of the Year, as well as selections from his sophomore album, Motewolonuwok, which was awarded the 2024 Polaris Music Prize—making Dutcher the first-ever two-time winner.
Following the concert, party guests are invited to the Roy Thomson Hall patio and North Lobby (weather permitting) for a vibrant gathering inspired by the summer season’s themes of light, growth, and connection. The Solstice Party will feature a live DJ, artistic activations, and opportunities to mingle with TSO musicians, fellow patrons, and Jeremy Dutcher.
“This is more than a concert—it’s a celebration of light, identity, and artistic freedom,” says Mark Williams, Beck Family CEO of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. “We’re thrilled to welcome Jeremy Dutcher and invite Toronto to come together in joy and reflection on this special night.”
