Tickets for Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s 2024/25 Season—Including Two New Special Performances—On Sale Today

Matilda in Concert and Jeremy Dutcher join expansive slate of previously announced programs

Beginning on July 24, members of the public can purchase individual tickets to all 2024/25 Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) performances. Everyone is invited to Symphony With Us for an extraordinary season of music-making, running from September 2024 to June 2025 and featuring timeless classics, exciting new creations by contemporary composers, and the greatest hits from Broadway, film, and popular music—all while shining a well-deserved spotlight on the superb talents of the TSO’s own musicians.

Further, two new Special Performances have been added to the pre-existing 2024/25 season schedule: Matilda in Concert, narrated live by special guest Danny DeVito, and an unforgettable evening with multi-award-winning Two-Spirit artist from Tobique First Nation Jeremy Dutcher.

New Programs

On January 25, 2025, and for one night only, the TSO presents a singular film-in-concert experience as the beloved 1996 family film Matilda, based on Roald Dahl’s ever-popular children’s novel, is projected on Roy Thomson Hall’s immense screen while the orchestra performs David Newman’s charming score live. Newman—an acclaimed member of a legendary film-music dynasty—personally conducts the TSO and is joined onstage by the iconic star, producer, and director of the movie, Danny DeVito, who lends his signature wit and unmistakable speaking voice to the role of the narrator.

Bringing the 2024/25 season to a momentous close with a single performance on National Indigenous Peoples Day, June 21, 2025, is the versatile and mesmerizing Jeremy Dutcher. His most recent album, Motewolonuwok, was just named to the short list of the highly prestigious Polaris Music Prize—an award Dutcher previously won in 2018 for his album Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa, which also won a JUNO Award. He joins the TSO and audience-favourite conductor Lucas Waldin to perform selections from both celebrated albums.

These performances round out what promises to be a spectacular season of concerts, beginning with Pictures at an Exhibition on September 25, 26, and 28. In addition to the grand title work by Mussorgsky, Music Director Gustavo Gimeno leads the orchestra and three supremely gifted soloists—Canadian pianist and Spotlight Artist Jan Lisiecki, Concertmaster Jonathan Crow, and Principal Cello Joseph Johnson—in Beethoven’s enthralling Triple Concerto.
